Open Access & Article Processing Charges
JAICCT is a Gold Open Access journal. All published articles are immediately and freely available to all readers worldwide. There is no subscription-based access. Authors retain full copyright of their work.
Article Processing Charge (APC)
There are no submission fees. Charges apply only after formal acceptance. The APC is determined based on the date of acceptance.

APCs are subject to applicable taxes (VAT or local taxes where required by law).
What the APC Covers
- Editorial processing and peer review management
- Professional production (copyediting, typesetting, layout)
- DOI registration
- Online hosting and long-term archiving
- Indexing preparation and metadata services
APC Waivers and Discounts
- Full waiver: Automatic for corresponding authors affiliated with World Bank-classified low-income countries.
- Partial discount: Available for authors from lower-middle-income countries.
- Discretionary waiver: Authors experiencing financial hardship may apply. Requests are evaluated confidentially on a case-by-case basis.
All waiver/discount requests must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission. Requests during peer review or after acceptance cannot be considered. Editorial decisions are completely independent of ability to pay.
Institutional and Funder Support
Many institutions and funding agencies provide financial support for open access publication. Authors are encouraged to check with their institutional library regarding open-access agreements, confirm eligibility for APC coverage through research grants, and review funder mandates.
Creative Commons Licensing
Authors retain full copyright. Articles are published under a Creative Commons license selected at acceptance:
- CC BY 4.0 (default) — Allows sharing, adaptation, and commercial reuse with attribution. Recommended for authors with funder open-access mandates.
- CC BY-NC 4.0 (upon request) — Allows sharing and adaptation for non-commercial purposes with attribution. Commercial reuse requires permission.
Authors receive a perpetual license to reuse their own figures and images.
Refund Policy
APCs are non-refundable once production has commenced. If a manuscript is withdrawn after acceptance but before production begins, administrative charges may apply.
Transparency and Compliance
JAICCT adheres to COPE, DOAJ open-access standards, and Plan S open-access principles where applicable. All financial processes are separated from editorial evaluation to ensure integrity and impartiality.
